In 1938, with the traditional crash of a bottle of champagne, "Amadour", a splendid sailboat of 17 m 30, manufactured by the yards of the Liane, in Marseilles, is baptized in big pumps.
This prestigious unit designed by the Russian engineer Lomakhine, has just gone through seven decades to finally be, after many restorations, completely refurbished in Villefranche-sur-Mer. Three identical sailboats will be created in these remote times. "Orac" that will disappear in history, "Beg-Hir" which is still sailing on the side of Le Havre and "Amadour" now moored at the port of Darse, capital of the Mediterranean maritime heritage. Its successive owners have devoted an unlimited passion to this sea bird. Tom Van Der Bruggen from the Netherlands is now in charge.
On the side of woodwork and varnish, 500 hours of work made unavoidable for Gilbert Pasqui and his team. "This is a beautiful sailing boat ... I am proud to have participated in its rebirth and in particular the total construction of its balm and its mast of 22 meters. We will attack the restoration of interiors as early as this autumn. "
Three hundred hours of work were also needed to cover this majestic hull highlighted with golden lines with an immaculate white film. A goldsmith work signed Rudy's Performance Yacht Painting. Jean-Michel Pastor, the skipper, presently displays this splendor at all concentrations of rare birds in the Mediterranean.
