    Rig
    RIGGING
The original Nautor mast and boom are fitted.
The mast was rewired with new LED tricolour and anchor light, motoring and spotlight in about 2008. All standing rigging was renewed 2012. ( The original rigging wires with Norseman terminals are included as spares). A Harken mainsail track system was fitted by the previous owner with recirculating ball cars.
The boom was converted to slab reefing in 2008, with a sheave box fitted to the aft end with sheaves for 2 reefs. An additional sheave is fitted to the side of the boom for the third reef.
A three section rope jammer was fitted under the boom to secure the reefing lines. A new gooseneck plate was fitted to the mast for the fixed gooseneck. ( The original design had the gooseneck running on a track on the mast for the boom downhaul.) A three sheave block leads the reefing lines to a deck mounted snatch block, and then to the reefing winch.
The genoa roller reefing system was replaced new in 2007 with a Facnor system. The reefing drum was replaced with the latest Facnor drum in 2013, as the original drum had seized bearings.
The original rig for the Swan 41 had a large 150% genoa. In order to improve performance in strong winds, the current owner designed a furling jib system which can be used when the genoa is furled. This is a portable stay with continuous line roller reefing which is normally stowed by the mast. When stowed , the genoa can be tacked normally. In order to used the jib, the stay is transferred to the fixing on the deck track just aft of the fixed forestay. It is tightened using a screw backstay type tensioner. The high cut jib can then be hoisted into the foil, and furled/reefed using the continuous line furler, with the furling line taken aft to the cockpit.

This system has greatly enhanced the flexibility of the rig, and was extensively tested in a round Atlantic voyage in 2011. In winds above force 4, windward performance is improved by using the jib rather than the reefed genoa.
The Harken backstay tensioner ( manual type operated using a winch handle) was replaced in 2012.
The original Lewmar mainsheet system was replaced with a Harken recirculating ball type in 2007.
Two spinnaker poles are supplied. One is the original Nautor pole. The other is a carbon pole with Harken fittings that is half the weight of the aluminium pole. This was reconditioned in 2010. The original reaching pole is supplied.
New genoa sheets and furling line 2016

As new 150% laminate genoa only used several times
Identical laminate genoa with the foot cut about 1m higher for better visibility when cruising. Worn but still useable.
Good quality Dacron 150% genoa with double ply leach, older sail but still in good condition
Brand new laminate mainsail (never used)
Identical laminate mainsail now worn but now delaminating. This is the usual mainsail used when cruising
Good quality Dacron mainsail and was used regularly when cruising in tropical water
High cut jib new in 2008, used regularly but still in good condition
Spinnaker in sock as new condition.
    Accommodation
The original layout has been maintained, with the exception of the forward cabin
The forward cabin originally comprised of two fold down 'pipe cots' with sail bins underneath. Proper bunks were constructed using solid teak fronts. The sails bins are still accessible by lifting the bunk boards.
The heads compartment was re painted using Awlgrip (sprayed) in 2014, the original dome lights have been replaced with LED lights. In addition 5 florescent lights have been fitted.

Original Taylor cooking stove which was re conditioned in 2014
Original Baby Blake toilet is fitted and completely rebuilt with all parts epoxy coated in 2014
Sump tank was replaced by an electric tank in 2016
Loudspeakers in the cabin and cockpit
Broadband masthead active antenna is fitted
A pressure water system is fitted, this supplies hot and cold water to the galley and heads.
