Accommodation

This Contessa 26 offers 4 berths in 2 cabins with approx. 5ft 9in headroom aft. Two single berths in the saloon area plus 2 single V berths in the forward cabin. To starboard a Jabsco marine toilet. Hanging storage space is also provided in this forward area. The upholstery is blue floral design in the main cabin with curtains for portholes. Galley is to port with single sink, 50 litre water capacity manually pumped, with a Neptune 2000 gimbaled gas 2 burner hob plus 2 gas bottles. Nav station is to starboard.

Sails and Spars

Masthead rigged Bermudian sloop. Deck stepped Proctor anodised mast and boom with roller reefing and furling headsail by Sailspar. Stainless steel standing rigging 2012. Terylene running rigging, replaced as required. 1 x Spinnaker pole.

Mechanical System

Located under the companionway steps a 2017 Beta 16 2-cylinder 16hp inboard diesel engine with 205 hours. Single lever control with electric start. Engine was last serviced in November 2021 by the owner. Shaft drive to 3 bladed fixed propellor fitted 2017. 40 Litre stainless steel fuel tank. Last out of water maintenance February 2022.

2 x 12 Volt 88Ah domestic batteries 2019, 1 x 12-volt 88Ah engine battery 2018, charging from the engine alternator and NASA battery management system, 240-volt shore power connection.

Stored ashore in winter for last 30+ years to my knowledge.

She is my first cruising yacht, I have owned her for the last 11 years and she has looked after me very well, giving me huge confidence. I have sailed her around the East Coast, Solent and Netherlands. I am only selling her because I wish to buy a larger yacht with my long-term crew. Adapted for single handed sailing.

History and Construction

This Contessa 26 built in 1973 the hull, deck and superstructure moulded in GRP. has a long-encapsulated cast iron keel with transom hung rudder, with tiller steering. Internal joinery in teak and teak faced plywood.
