If you are looking for a comfortable cruiser with an excellent turn of speed that you can sail short handed then this is the boat for you. Build by Blue Water Yachts in 1978, this model was owned by one of the directors of the company who had a deeper keel fitted and changed the mast to a twin spreader set up. This makes the boat very fast in light airs and she has been very successful at club level as well as providing a safe platform for family cruising. Original blue gel coat fish in good condition. reliable and economical inboard diesel and a sail wardrobe to fit every occasion.
Vessel is ashore on a twin axled road trailer which is not included in the sail, but may be used to transport to a local yard for lift off onto transport or launch.
The vessel is fitted with an inboard Yanmar 2QM15, 2-cylinder diesel. Single lever engine control in cockpit with key start. Reduction gearbox driving a stainless steel shaft supported by a P-bracket. 2-Bladed folding propeller.
12V system with 2X12V batteries providing engine start and domestic power. These may need replaced. Batteries recharged via the engine alternator.
This Starlight differs from other models as she has the slightly taller, twin spreader rig. Silver anodised aluminium, keel stepped mast and boom by Selden.
Schaefer roller furling system for headsail and slab reefing mainsail. Carbon fibre spinnaker pole with associated halyards and clutches.
Stainless steel standing rigging believed to be from 2012. Fully adjustable backstay with Highfield lever.
Vessel rigged for single handed sailing with all lines led aft to helm position.
Winches include Lewmar 43 self tailing genoa sheet winches, Lewmar 16 2-speed halyard winches and lewmar spinnaker sheet winces. These are all mounted within easy reach of the helm.

Vessel is designed to sleep 4/5 persons within the forcabin and the saloon. The interior is entered via the companionway steps. Headroom is a decent 6' at the main hatchway. To port is the galley with a stainless steel sink, 2-burner gas hob with grill and a top loading icebox. The water tank is currently removed but the plumbing is still in place. One of the burners is non operational. If a new stove with oven was required this can be fitted as there is plenty of room to do so.
Opposite the galley is the chart table with chart area and storage. 12V switch panel with webasto heating controls. Aft of here is a comfortable quarter/pilot berth.
The saloon features well upholstered settee/berths finished in easy clean draylon./ Behind the port settee is the small occasional 5th berth which is more suited to a child. Behind the starboard settee berth is open storage units. There is a wooden saloon table with an extending leaf. This is currently removed.
Between the saloon and the forepeak is a heads compartment with Lavac sea toilet to starboard and a sink unit with mirrored storage unit to port. In the forepeak is a single berth on the starboard side. This allows easy access to the foredeck when racing and changing sails. There is a wooden privacy door to the forepeak area. This is currently removed.
12V lighting throughout. Webasto diesel fired heating.
GRP constructed yacht with fin keel and counter hung rudder with tiller steering. Fin keel is longer than the standard Starlight models which was specified by Michael Pocock, the designer and first owner of the boat. The topsides are a smart "French Blue" and are in excellent condition.
Grp deck and superstructure finished in pale blue moulded non slip. Deep safe self bailing cockpit with locker storage to port and at transom. Nice wide side decks allowing easy access forward for the crew. Self bailing anchor locker in bow with lids.
Aluminium toe rail and teak topped capping at transom.
