Varne 278m1978

Calisto is a 1978 Varne 27. She is in very good condition and sails beautifully. Once described as "The best cruiser you've never heard of" 

A forerunner to the folkboat, she has a cast iron fin keel of 1177kg. 

A fairly recent engine installation of a Beta 14 twin cylinder provides exceptional reliability and pushes her along at a good 6 knots.

She comes with a good suite of sails, although not new, all in good condition. Main, 130% Genoa, Small Genoa, Storm jib, Trysail, Spinnaker.

Currently on a swinging mooring at Dunstaffnage Marina, Oban, West Scotland. The mooring is also for sale separately. Mooring owners pay a fee each year and can use the marina facilities and parking.

Winter storage is available at Creran Marine, a short distance away. Usually there is a waiting list at most marinas. There is a cradle for Calisto stored at Creran Marine, which can be purchased for an extra £600.

Instruments are fairly old but adequate. There is an old but serviceable dinghy and outboard included.

A survey is available, which was done last month.
