A unique opportunity to own a unique sailing boat - this Shrimper 19 Mk1 was one of the first to be built with an inboard engine, and prior to the introduction of the moulded GRP cockpit sole. Sail number 221, built in the mid 1980's has an all wooden cockpit sole, engine case and hatch, which was replaced in 2020 using 1" marine ply, and was converted to a self draining cockpit at the same time.
At the same time, the engine was taken out for a complete overhaul, and electronic bilge pump fitted in place of the manual pump made redundant by the self draining cockpit.
Two blade prop replaced with 3 blade in 2020, giving significantly and noticably better performance - particularly going against wind and tide.
All the woodwork was stripped back in 2019 and re-varnished, and topped up in 2021. It's good condition would suggest that some or all of the woodwork has been replaced in the past - including the rudder which is a Mk2 version (with step).
There is a twin battery set up, with two way isolation switch, and a 12v switch panel for lights, navigation, radio etc.
The mast head is fitted with Tricolour lights - Port/Starboard/Running/Anchor, and a VHF antenna for new (not yet fitted) Icom VHF.
The hull is still in it's original Oxford Blue gel coat and still polishes up nicely. There are the usual marks and scars consistent with the age of the boat.
Below the water line she is anti-fouled with Copper Coat - so no need for annual re-application of eroding anti-foul paint.
The sails still have plenty of life left in them, though the UV strip on the jib has come to the end of it's useful service life.
Please note that it comes with a LAUNCH trailer, not a ROAD trailer, but I'm happy to assist with transport costs if purchased locally.
