Main Features

Accommodation

The Hunter 306 sleeps up to 6 people in two cabins plus the main saloon. On this particular boat the accommodation really begins outside thanks to the addition of a full cockpit enclosure. The comfortably sized cockpit has 2 storage lockers to starboard and a dedicated locker for 2 gas bottles to port. There is a folding table mounted on the binnacle which together with the enclosure make this a year round living space.

On descending the shallow angled companionway steps the extensive use of wood together with the layout and quality of construction make this feel a warm and inviting place to be. The cream and white linings, plentiful windows and clear vents give a sense of light and space.

To port is the L shaped galley with a gimballed 2 burner hob and oven, stainless steel sink with pressurised hot and cold water, a cool box and a good range of storage. Immediately behind the galley is door to the aft cabin.

The after cabin has storage locker and a large double berth running across the full width of the boat with more storage underneath. This should prove comfortable for even the tallest sailor.

To the right of the companionway steps is the heads compartment comprising a sea toilet with holding tank, sink and shower with pressurised hot and cold water, mirrors and a variety of storage.

Moving forward into the main saloon there is L shaped seating to starboard for 3 to 4 people, a straight seat to port with a folding table leaf adds space for 2 more. The table drops allowing an additional double berth to be made. More storage space can be found under the seats.

Moving forward again the fore-cabin is separated from the saloon by a wooden door. There is a deck hatch overhead for ventilation, light and access. The berth has a removable infill allowing twin or double configurations.

Engine

Powered by a very economical and reliable Yanmar 2GM20F inboard diesel engine. This outputs 18hp and is situated in a sound proofed compartment beneath the companionway steps and allows easy access for daily checks and servicing. The saildrive unit is fitted with a 2-bladed fixed propeller. The Sail Drive Seal is due for replacement.

12/220V system with bank of 2X12V batteries fitted with isolators. The batteries  are recharged via the engine alternator or by the battery charger when attached to shore power. 12/220V panel at chart table with controls for onboard functions. Cabin sockets and lights.

Sails & Rigging

Sloop rigged yacht with deck stepped alloy mast and spars. B&R Backstay less rig, with swept back spreaders with diagonals. This allows a larger genoa to be carried giving better performance in light airs. Mainsheet operated on track above cockpit leaving area uncluttered. Battened Mainsail with Lazyjacks provide ease of use when sailing and the sailbag keeps the sail protected from the elements and birds when stowed. Roller reefing genoa with a Furlex reefing system. Standing Rigging is original from 2003.

Construction

This yachts hull and deck are constructed of GRP with a good quality finish to the mouldings. White topsides finished in hi-gloss gelcoat with blue decoration. Shoal keel configuration allows the shallower areas of our coastline to be explored and can offer cheaper moorings. Counter hung rudder with wheel steering. Large bathing platform. Folding bathing ladder allowing easy access back on board after swimming or boarding from a tender.

Grey contrasting non slip surfaces where required, make moving around the spacious decks and coach roof safer. Cockpit has storage lockers and a dedicated gas locker with space for two bottles. Stainless steel bow fitting with roller and large capacity anchor locker in bow with electric windlass. Cockpit benefits from a full enclosure which not only keeps the area clean and dry but acts as another room.

Stainless steel pulpit and push-pit linked with twin steel guard rails also help keep your crew on-board. The push-pit incorporates 2 seats, outboard engine storage and a horseshoe life buoy.

The Hunter Legend Yacht 306 offers great comfort, stability and comes with an easy to handle sail package. The yacht provides the interior ambiance of a much larger vessel and is finely finished with teak furniture and bulkheads give a feeling of comfort and quality. She has a full galley, spacious saloon area, an aft master cabin and a forward private v-shaped berth, both with great storage facilities.
