This Bavaria 42 Cruiser offers six berths in 3 Double cabins. The forward Master cabin has a large double bed with storage space underneath and hanging lockers .The cabin is light with the large side widows and deck hatch above .It has an ensuite heads with marine toilet, pressurised hot and cold water to the sink and shower It also has a mirrored cupboard

Aft of the forward cabin is the saloon which has a U shaped settee with blue upholstery around a large fixed polished table. There is an additional matching bench seating facing the table . There is good storage underneath, behind and above the seating. Aft of the saloon and to starboard is a large Navigation station with chart table with full instrumentation and storage lockers for pilot books.

The galley is opposite the saloon table and provides a linear galley to port. It has a two burner gas cooker with oven, 12v fridge, 12v Large Cool Box/Freezer, twin stainless steel sinks with pressurised hot and cold water. There is lots of storage lockers and draws above and below. The yacht is being sold with its Bavaria crockery and cutlery. The yacht has two water tanks 150 litres and 240 litres. The yacht has a Mikuni MY-30 diesel cabin heating system with outlets in all cabins and the saloon. Aft of the Galley is the second heads which has a marine heads with a stainless steel sink with hot and cold water and a shower . It has a mirrored cupboard. Both cabins offer a double berth if required ,hanging lockers and ample storage . Aft of the heads are two double berths. Both berths are light and airy with opening hatches to the cockpit and large portholes. Both double berth aft cabins have hanging and storage lockers.

Companionway steps lead up to the large cockpit which has a central table with folding leaves. There are a number of lockers. The twin wheels provide easy access to the aft transom. The cockpit can easily seat six people in front of the twin helm positions.

This Bavaria 42 Cruiser has a sloop Bermudan masthead rig with a Seldon deck stepped  mast, boom and spinnaker pole. The stainless steel standing rigging is original. It has a manual backstay adjuster. It has a slab reefing mainsail the drops into stack pack with lazy jacks and a furling genoa. All lines are led aft to the cockpit to make sail handling easy.

This Bavaria 42 Cruiser has the upgraded Volvo D2-55C diesel engine fitted. It has a Saildrive with fixed 4 bladed propeller. The Saildrive gaiter is the original. The engine was last professionally serviced in 2016, but has been serviced annually by the owner. It has a 240 Litre plastic fuel tank. The yacht has a cruising speed of approximately 5 knots and an approximately maximum speed of 8 knots.

The yacht has 4 x 12 volt batteries, (2 x domestic new 2022, 1 x engine, 1 x anchor windlass). All batteries are charged by the engine alternator and via a 240V battery charged. It has a 240V ring main system with plugs in all cabins and saloon. It has a small 300 watt inverter and an immersion heater fitted.

Deep Fin Keel  1.86m with spade rudder with twin helms

This Bavaria 42 Cruiser was built by Bavaria in 2005 to a J&J Design. It has a white GRP hull and superstructure with fin keel hull.  The hull was copper coated from new. She has been taken out of the water annually and washed off. The copper coated was last reactivated in 2018. Anodes have been changed as and when required.  The yacht has been owned by the current owner from new and is being sold as they are retiring from sailing. The owners recognise that some updates to rigging and Saildrive gaiter are required and have reflected this in the asking price.
