Description
EX MOD SOLID ALUMINIUM BOAT – Fairey Marine
Length:18’
Beam: 6.5”
Year of Reg: 1963
Fuel Type: Petrol
for sale is my stunning Ex Ministry of Defence Work boat, built by A E Freezer in the early 60's and fitted out for the MOD by Fairey Marine in Hamble (known for their range of Huntsman’s, Huntresses and Swordsman’s).
she is constructed of solid aluminium and is rock solid - with loads of bracing, reinforced keel, stringers and frames.
boat measures approximately 17-18ft in length with a beam of about 6ft 6
she handles choppy seas beautifully and can carry loads of people
on a calm day she will plough on at 30+mph with multiple people on board.
Powered by a brand new (>20 hours / 6-year warranty) 60HP Tohatsu MFS60A 4 stroke, Electronic Fuel Injected outboard. Together with all controls, cables and fuel filtration system. The engine runs like clockwork
Fitted with Fish finder, GPS speedo, Bluetooth stereo, tachometer etc.
Having completed a significant amount of work to her (see below) over the past two years the boat is well presented in excellent condition and regularly turns heads and invokes interest as to her provenance.
She is the only one I’m aware of still in existence, she is a real rare gem and is far more capable and unique than most modern mass produce GRP boats.

The scope of work, hours, and upgrades performed on her over the past two years far exceed the asking price. I have enjoyed the project, but due to new work and life commitments, I must unfortunately pass her on to her new owner.
She is a piece of history, and any potential owner should be very happy to own her.
