In a billionaire’s world, private jets, multiple residences, private islands and megayachts are standard purchases. In this article, we take a look at the most expensive private yachts in the world and who owns them.   If you have read our article on the 10 Largest Yachts in the World, you will probably recognise a few yachts and billionaires that appear on this list.

10. Pelorus

1. History Supreme

History Supreme’s hull is made of real gold and platinum. Photo: atlasmarinesystems.com Price: $4.8 billion (£3.4 billion) Owner: Robert Knock If you’re wondering why a 30-metre yacht is worth 3 billion pounds, then take a closer look at her hull; History Supreme is covered in an eye-watering 100,000 kilograms of gold and platinum.
