The prestigious Spanish shipyard Belliure launched this unit of the New Endurance 50 in 2014. A 50-foot yacht with a "super yacht" spirit, it combines classic lines with a modern attitude, the result of the close collaboration between Vicente Belliure and naval designer Iñigo Toledo.
Maintaining the warmth, appeal, and character of the original, the new and improved Belliure Endurance 50 has been designed with significant improvements in rigging, deck, interior, and appendages, transforming the original design into an attractive proposal, very interesting for future owners in the growing semi-custom market.
Using the most advanced engineering and software tools available, they have presented a boat that is 20% lighter and performs better in all areas. The ballast ratio has increased from 32% to 38%, and the center of gravity has lowered, improving performance upwind and increasing stability. The new rig and sail plan incorporate a longer boom and increase the sail area by the baluma, resulting in better upwind performance at 8 knots at 32º instead of the 7 knots at 40º recorded with the previous design.
Aside from changes in the number, size, and location of the ports in the hull, its attractive V-line remains virtually unchanged. What has changed are the appendages, with a better-profiled and deeper keel that improves performance by 20% and an increased surface area on the rudder blade that enhances the sensations while sailing and the sensitivity.
But the changes and improvements are not only related to sailing and maneuvering performance. The new deck plan, with a low-profile roof and flush hatches, proposes outdoor areas of intense and comfortable use.
As in any Mediterranean cruiser, the cockpit is a focal point and of special consideration, so its volume has significantly increased from 2 to 4 m in length. When enjoying the sea, the central section of the stern folds down easily and safely.
Regarding the interior layout, the major changes have been aimed at repositioning the owner's cabin to the bow and accommodating two double cabins in the stern section. All of this translates into better rest for the owner when mooring stern-to, and the inclusion of an independent bathroom in each of the stern cabins is an intelligent design detail to make guests on board a Belliure Endurance 50 feel a little more special.
